The I2SysBio Gene Expression Genomics laboratory leads the INFRAS2024 Research Infrastructure Project of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) “Promoting the presence of the CSIC within the ESFRI ELIXIR” whose objective is to reinforce the quality and presence of the CSIC in the European ELIXIR infrastructure that manages Bioinformatics and Computational Biology resources in the European space. This project covers five CSIC research groups and their contribution of bioinformatics tools to ELIXIR.

Within this INFRAS2024 project we are looking for a part-time Senior Computer Technician to implement the first objective related to improving the quality of the ELIXIR-CSIC offer, which involves the following tasks:

1) Provide technical support to the ELIXIR-CSIC bioinformatics tools (dependency update, error detection, ticket management, containerization, etc.).

2) Preparation of documentation and training material for the tools.

3) Implementation of download and user monitoring systems.

4) Provide support to the training offer of ELIXIR-CSIC tools

5) Development of a hosting pilot in the central infrastructure of the CSIC.

The ideal candidate must have a higher degree in Computer Engineering or similar, usually in bioinformatics (Python, R, Web Services, etc.). Knowledge and interest in bioinformatics is valued.
