Epigenetics of adaptation in malaria

We are interested in understanding the epigenetic mechanisms that control cell plasticity in pathogens in response to variable environments. We focus on malaria parasites, which are a hallmark example of natural genomic variation and phenotypic plasticity, with an emphasis on their life cycle in the Anopheles mosquito vectors.
