EPIADAPT

Epigenetics of adaptation in the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum

Despite being a major global health issue, progress in malaria eradication has been stacked. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies, such as parasite genomics, epigenetics, single cell technologies, insect developmental and stem cells biology, the goal of this project is to unravel the epigenetic basis of parasite plasticity, and to develop new tools and model systems for studying and blocking adaptation in malaria. We expect these new insights and technological advances will contribute towards the global effort to eradicate malaria.
