Biography: My current research focuses on developing biomarkers using both conventional and multi-omics approaches to assess the nutritional status, health, and welfare of aquatic organisms, such as fish and cephalopods. Additionally, I investigate the effects of environmental stressors—such as climate change and pollution (toxic stress)—on aquatic life. I have played a key role in establishing the crustacean Artemia as a model species for toxicity testing in marine and hypersaline ecosystems.
