Biography: Graduated in BSc Microbiology by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with Honours and MSc Molecular Medical Microbiology by the University of Nottingham. PhD in Molecular Microbiology in the University of Nottingham working with quorum sensing in Acinetobacter baumannii. MSc in Bioinformatics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Researcher at Prof. Àlex Peràlvarez-Marín group at UAB studying neuronal membrane proteins and peptides using a computational approach.
Currently using computational and experimental approaches to redesign enzymes for biomedical and biotechnological applications at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Barcelona (IBMB-CSIC) as part of the Momentum-CSIC program in the groups of Synthetic Structural Biology (Prof. Ulrich Eckhard) and Protein Design and Modelling (Prof. Enrique Marcos).
I am an enthusiast about molecular biology, biophysics, microbiology, bioinformatics and structural biology.
