Protein interactions and network molecular biology

Protein interactions and network molecular biology focuses on understanding how proteins interact with each other to form complex, dynamic networks that govern cellular function. Rather than studying individual molecules in isolation, this approach models biological processes as interconnected systems, where protein–protein interactions define signaling pathways, regulatory modules, and functional complexes. By integrating interaction data with network theory and computational modeling, network molecular biology enables the identification of key hubs, bottlenecks, and critical pathways involved in normal physiology and disease, supporting mechanistic insight, biomarker discovery, and therapeutic target prioritization.
